William brings 25+ years of executive corporate experience in stakeholder and government relations, public policy and economic development throughout Canada to his current role assisting Canadian employers manage labour market challenges and contributing guidance to individual immigration journeys.
Immediately prior to pursuing a career in immigration, William spent 15 years as regional vice president representing the strategic interests of one of our country’s largest financial services industry associations across 11 of Canada’s 13 sub-national jurisdictions.
He is committed to drawing from this experience to help CAPIC become an even better industry association. He graduated as a member of the inaugural cohort of Queen’s University’s Graduate Diploma in Citizenship and Immigration Law.
He previously obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University. As a new RCIC-IRB, William brings a perspective of the unique challenges experienced by GDipICL students and newly licensed immigration consultants to the CAPIC Board.
He plans to use this insight to assist in growing CAPIC’s membership base among this cohort. Based in Halifax, he will also assist CAPIC fulfil its obligation to have Board representation from this previously unrepresented region.
As a life-long volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, William held Board Member and Board Chair roles at the local and national levels, in addition to being a Big Brother.
This volunteer mentoring experience, combined with his education, business and personal experiences have taught him that that life’s greatest rewards come from contributing to the success of others, a core belief that informs all his client, business, volunteer and personal interactions.
